MZFX

TT MKII

Tone Tweaker MK II

The MZFX Tone Tweaker Mk II produces a gritty, natural sounding overdrive, similar to the left channel of the Lovepedal Tchula - albeit with lots of mods. Think cranked Twin, only more so. A host of controls are at your fingertips on the Tweaker. There are switches for swapping different clipping diodes, input, and output capacitors. There is a knob that controls a highly responsive tone circuit that helps to thicken up a single coil or remove the mud from a dark humbucker. It has a gain knob, for more or less gain. All for tweaking your tone. Plus, a volume knob - to share your tonal creations with your neighbors. The Tweaker responds well to the volume knob on your guitar too, so you might find yourself leaving it on all the time. Knobs galore!

All of this adds up to a wealth of dirty tones that can be shaped and sculpted to fit your rig, from light transparent overdrive to thick dense fuzz. Great for live performance or recording. Use the many controls to craft subtly different tones perfect for doubling and beefing up parts. Try using it to drive a tube amp to distortion or put it in front of your favorite dirt box for heavily saturated mayhem.

peach-fuzz

Peach Fuzz

This is one gnarly can of peaches! Super-high-gain transistor fuzz circuit that sounds like it’s about to blow. The Peach Fuzz delivers a heavily saturated and compressed tone dripping with syrupy fuzz. This can of peaches is highly sensitive to the volume knob on your guitar. In fact, your guitar’s volume acts like the “gain” knob…dial it back for less saturated overdrive tones or crank it for sweet clingy mayhem. Input, output, power and volume knob around back.

Features:

  • All hand wired circuitry made from top quality components.

  • 8.5 oz peach can enclosure

  • Standard 2.1 mm 9-volt negative tip jack. AC adapter not included. No battery strap, be kind to the Earth :-)

  • Perfect gift for the guitar player on your list!

green-chile-fuzz

Green Chile Fuzz

It’s a fuzz pedal in a chile can! Super high-gain one-knob transistor fuzz circuit, housed in a 4-ounce chile can. Input and output jacks and dc jack around back. This fuzz cleans up nicely with the volume knob on your guitar, or crank it all the way for a thick wall of distortion. The circuit uses a red LED for a clipping diode, so its voice is a loud, full-throated roar.

Features:

  • All hand wired circuitry made from top quality components.

  • 4 ounce chile can enclosure

  • Standard 2.1 mm 9-volt negative tip jack. AC adapter not included. No battery strap, be kind to the Earth :-)

  • Perfect gift for the guitar player on your list!

Tomato Sauce Overdrive

It’s an overdrive pedal in a tomato sauce can. This circuit delivers an overdriven tweed amp sound, organic and gritty. Similar to the Lovepedal Woodrow/Tchulu/Cot 50, as well as the 70s Electra circuit. This drive is pretty transparent and will let your guitar’s personality shine through. Check out the demo video recorded with a 1968 Strat on the bridge pickup. Cleans up nicely with the volume pedal on your guitar. This is a set it and forget always-on kind of pedal.

Features:

  • All hand wired circuitry made from top quality components.

  • 7.75 ounce tomato sauce can enclosure

  • Gritty!

  • Standard 2.1 mm 9-volt negative tip jack. AC adapter not included. No battery strap, be kind to the Earth :-)

cloud-of-thorns

Cloud of Thorns

The Cloud of Thorns is an overdrive pedal in the vein of EarthQuaker Devices Special Cranker. Large knob for output volume, plus 3 toggle switches for tone, clipping diodes, and gain. The tone switch provides two choices of input capacitor. When engaged, it chops the bass off to help you cut through the mix. The clipping diode switch provides 2 options: silicon, and Schottky for germanium-type breakup. The gain switch swaps a resistor on the transistor emitter for a bit more chunk and depth, plus a slight increase in output volume.

The Cloud of Thorns is a transparent overdrive that leaves your tone largely intact at full input volume. But when you roll the volume back on your guitar, the Cloud sputters and craps out in a very musical fashion. Each note is surrounded by a thick, fuzzy haze of glorious transistor fuzz…the cloud of thorns!
